"La 317e Section" is the best indokino out there.
It's not widely known, even in France, but it's a great movie, directed by Pierre Schoendoerffer, an army photographer/reporter that actualy fought at Dien Bien Phu, and saw some shit in viets camps.

Anyway the whole point of the Maginot Line was to force Germany to go through the low countries so the war wouldn't be fought on French soil which kind of worked. France didn't expect whole armor divisions to go through the Ardennes though which led to the breakthrough at Sedan which was only guarded by the worst French divisions.
