The Last Kingdom is far and beyond a better show than Vikings can ever be, I fought tooth and nail to struggle watching Vikings and gave up around season two, I finished last kingdom in a day.
This show is pretty bad for majority of its running time. The writing is extremely unimaginative, the actors are all trash, but somehow the director of 'x' episode and its cinematographer somehow sometimes shit out osmething thats actually watchable.
There are few moments in the series which are my favorite, one of them being when Ragnar is dying (but in the end wasn't LOL Xd) because it was written with gravitas which the rest of the show lacks.
Sometimes the cinematography and directing hits the point like when Ragnar is watching his son climb the Paris wall (or is it the other way around, when one of them falls down) or when they're having the mid summer party at north in Sweden
