Ultimately I think that's what the reviewer was trying to bait him into doing - either say that it was kino, and then blast him for being pretentious, or that it was shit, and nail him for shitting on his own movie.
Instead, Jones just answered the questions pretty directly; the geography is communicated enough as far as the plot is concerned, I felt confident with my story changes because it's truer to the brand, and it's fairly clear that green magic = corruption/bad.
