saw this yesterday. I know nothing about the games and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only reason I can think of why people are saying it sucks is because they are used to fantasy type movies being that gritty pseudo-realistic shit. The kind of thing where everyone is wearing drab brown and grey clothes in a grey castle with a black sky, but this is very colorful and very much a fantasy movie.

The movie was fucking boring the fight scenes were boring everything was pg-13 as fuck, should have been an all cgi movie but they wanted it to look like those fakey hobbit fake shit movies. Because the kids think it's acceptable because they don't know any better.

I'm with you OP. Went in with low expectations and actually liked it.
The haters are actually doing it service by saying it's bad. People expect the worse and come out with something not half bad.

Same boat here. Never played any of the games but was thoroughly impressed by the cgi work so I saw it today. Absolutely fucking hated 95% of it. Any time it would cut away to the human characters I was bored out of my mind. And like someone else said, it was so painfully pg-13. Some good fight scenes but everything surrounding them was fucking terrible, imo.

It does have some serious pacing issues, but it is entertaining the same way Xena and Hercules were. I think it's the amount of cheese that bothers some people.

It was an enjoyably unbelievable fantasy with flashy colors, interesting characters, and amazing CG. The way fantasy should be desu.
I played the games and everything and I enjoyed that they told us what happened to Mehdiv.
That was always a loose end in warcraft3 and wow.

Took my dad to see this as well and we both enjoyed it a lot, but when I was a kid he would always take me to fantasy/sci-fi films so there was some nostalgia involved.
