Yes.
It was hit and miss at times, but there really is a lot of great writing and Cleese, Chapman, Jones, and Palin are all great.
there are people on this board RIGHT NOW that don't find this hilarious

>It's an Eric Idle sketch
There's a good reason people don't find it hilarious.

I do. Flying Circus is more hit-or-miss than the movies would make you think but it is worth watching every episode if you can dig the humor.
And long after the humor dries up, Flying Circus becomes comfy as fuck if you marathon it.

I much prefer the films if I'm honest.

Official Python Power Rankings
1. Michael Palin
2. Terry Gilliam
3. John Cleese
4. Eric Idle
5. Graham Chapman
6. Terry Jones

Gilliam should be ranked independently, but I otherwise completely agree with your rankings.

I don't blame you. They were not written on a weekly schedule so the wheat was better sorted from the chaff for each movie. The movies are a better sampler for the Pythons because they are so much consistently funnier than any three or four episodes put together.

Wrong.
1. John Cleese
2. Michael Palin

I love Michael Palin for his travel shows.

Cleese/Palin is a matter of taste, I'll grant you that.
There's nothing actually wrong with Graham Chapman in and of himself.
But Terry Jones? How many good sketches involving Terry Jones can you name? How many of them were good because of him?
Eric Idle following a power gap? Are you mad? He's at least as good as Chapman.
I ranked Gilliam primarily based on his animations. Watch Season 4 and you'll see how something is not quite right about the show. Besides Cleese's departure, they stopped having the animation and the show felt different and not for the better.
I would go so far as to argue that Gilliam's animations age better than many of the sketches.
I'll come out and say it: Gilliam is the official pleb-filter.
>>70809400
Eric Idle is an irritating money grubbing faggot and all of his sketches are pretty much the same.
My objections to Gilliam are more with his politics than anything else. Anyone that complains about the animations in Monty Python is an absolute pleb, I'll give you that.

Also
>implying I've ever watched season 4.
>>70809510
I did not rank anyone based on anything outside of the context of the show.
>>70809525
Dodged a bullet there. There are still some good sketches but it's just not the same as 1-3 without Cleese or Gilliam's animations.
