Why dont people like this movie?
It's basically Alien
>can restart a star with some tiny amount of shit we find on earth
i liked it

I still like the third act, turning the blind faith vs hope argument from metaphorical to physical was fine with me.

this
its actually thematically perfect, just questionably executed in a FEW parts
>>70796005
It's one of my favorite movies.

Well sure, from a narrative standpoint it's a little silly to see a teleporting burned zombie Mark Strong yelling at people and throwing them around with super-strength.
But I don't mind movies getting a little silly sometimes. The movie always had a pulp side to it, Boyle and Garland going full into that worked for me.

I like it but that ending is bad. Same thing with 28 days later... Both with Cillian.

do you know how big a star is?
think of jupiter as being 100x bigger then earth, then teh sun is 1000x time bigger then that.
and i am still low balling it.....
>>70796005
It's basically "The Core" in space.
It's good, the third act really isn't that bad
>>70796553
Both with Danny Boyle
>>70796562
You're about off by another factor of 10
>>70796005
Because it's better than alien.

Earth = 1:1
Jupiter = 1: 1,400
Sun 1027 = 1:1,300,000

I just watch the first hour then turn it off.
my own imagination comes up with a better ending.
>MUH 3RD ACT

I don't think most people who have seen Sunshine dislike it.
I think most people had a thorough enjoyment of the majority of the movie that was thrown off at the third act which has such a seemingly out of place tonal shift.
Intriguing sci-fi thriller that becomes a slasher flick at the end is pretty jarring.
Even with that, it's a still a stellar movie, albeit with some questionable execution.
Did the studio force in the slasher ending?

Yes it is....

Good post
One of my favorite Sci Fi movies.
The Mercury scene was beautiful.

A Q-ball would settle in the center of the sun if the sun were sufficiently dense enough to hold it. Fission bombs don't even convert a fifth of their matter into energy when detonated, so a nuke the size of Manhattan would literally not even scratch the surface of the sun.
An antimatter bomb the size of Mars would be slightly more believable.
h-hey

I liked it alot, has some problems with the third act but I can forgive it.
