Worf was so based in DS9

It's funny how if you think about it, when it comes to hand to hand combat, Worf is probably one of the few Klingons who takes his training seriously and dedicated himself to developing his martial arts and playing murder simulators on the holodeck. Most other Klingons just had the occasional drunken brawl or stabbed each other in the back with daggers because most real battles were fought in ships. Gowron didn't stand a fucking chance.

Every true Star Trek fan drinks a cup of Earl Grey every once in a while in tribute to Picard. Does anyone also enjoy chugging prune juice regularly in tribute to Worf?

There was an episode of ST:TNG where Worf pretended to be incharge of the Enterprise. I think the purpose was to trick another Klingon warship into thinking he was in charge.

I really don't remember the circumstances to the episode or its name.

I just remember the badass uniform Worf was wearing. I can't find an image of it because I can't generate decent search words.

Anyone remember the episode I am describing? I would really like to find an image of him in that outfit.

Oh fudge: I did one last search before posting (Worf Klingon Uniform)...I found it. I guess I didn't try hard enough when I searched before.

Part of Worf's whole thing is that he's too Klingon. He's more Klingon than most Klingons, having raised himself on an ideal whose warts he couldn't see because he was among humans. And despite being a fucking paragon of their supposed virtues, most Klingons think he's an Uncle Tom. Pretty tragic story, really. One of the things I love about him.

The DS9 writers had no idea what to do with Worf, they brought him to boost rating but obviously never cared about him. He becomes a parody of who he was in TNG and his relationship with Dax was incredibly boring

Sad that they had to take one of the best Trek characters and make him insufferable

Just realized that I'm the most knowledgeable Trekkie in these threads and the only Star Trek expert on /tv/. I've seen Star Trek (fans call it TOS), the Cartoon Series, TNG, Enterprise (aka Star Trek: Enterprise) and even Voyager. I've read dozens of books including Killing Time and A Flag Full of Stars, and I've read every Star Trek comic book including Countdown. I've seen every single movie. I've played Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Star Trek Online. I own models and figurines. I own Spock ears. Heck, I even have two Star Trek t-shirts.

You guys are alright but we need more experts on this forum.

Y'know before world war 1 all the experts reassured everyone that no large scale wars would ever happen again because it would be destructive, it would just destroy everything and take generations to recover from. And yet the war happened, and then another even more horrific war happened barely two decades later, despite all the efforts at preventing exactly that from happening. People aren't rational, they don't care how destructive the war is if they think they can win it, and these fucking bastards give them that idea.

S

There's so little shit to change (literally just retexturing everything and some moderate remodeling) and so much combined autism in the Trek, milsim and PC gaming circles that I give it all of a week before someone mods in the bridge of the Enterprise-D in HD, complete with voice soundboards.

And then, if the game does well you bet your ass it's going to spearhead an entire genre of command sims as well as several sequels. People have been fiddling with the concept of first-person command sims for a long time but VR really drummed up attention for it (IIRC Shekel Citizen had something like this) and I expect it to be one of the pillars of VR gaming alongside walking simulators, porn/weebshit and physics toys.

Personally I'd like a naval bridge sim, preferably WWI-era. I imagine that eventually you could probably get games where you have teams of dozens of people participating in ship-to-ship combat - radio operators, ordinancemen, firefighters, medics, the whole deal. Autism runs deep in these communities.
