Doesn't it suck ass to not be an American and watch movies?

You always see American flags and culture shoved in your face. Like, I was watching Interstellar the other day, and American imagery was everywhere even.

You can't escape it. What's it like? I'd imagine you'd have this gaping hole in your soul, feeling like crippling irrelevancy

yes this orwellian nightmare is fantastic

I only watch European arthouse and anime

There's that decade between Golden Age Hollywood and New Hollywood where art house and general foreign cinema reigned.
>>
I imagine it's like being non-British and watching Doctor Who.

The Chinese aren't complaining, we pander to them in every big budget blockbuster now. Soon their market will be more important than our own.

Indifferent. Only Ameriburgers care about this stuff.

I'm pretty interested to know how this will affect western creations. There's been some rumblings from western fans for gay/lesbian characters, but chinese media has banned the depiction of either on TV.

This must have been how the germanic warriors felt as they traveled to the other side of the Limes wall to watch roman plays in the cities of the occupied germanic provinces back when the roman empire already lay crumbling, yet was still functioning as a state machinery due to the physical law that a heavy object/structure can't be stopped or does not break down immediately just like that.

It makes me happy about being american actually, and I don't watch only USA movies btw.

It happened 10 years ago, buddy.

Who cares, plenty of euros on here claim that movies aren't important in their countries so who gives a fuck what they think.
>>
Probably how I felt watching Hitchhiker's Guide. Arthur is constantly being passive aggressive complaining and asking for tea, he couldn't be more British unless Zaphod was Muslim
