Ip Man is okay but sometimes I get the impression that people have never watched a martial arts movie before when they praise this one so much.

I thought Jet Li's Fearless was better, Donnie Yen has been trying embarrassingly hard his entire career to be the next Bruce Lee, and I don't think anything about the action in Ip Man is outstanding. It's well-made but the same stuff we've seen for decades, only a little more "omg brootal" than usual.

i dunno man it didn't bother me because all the ip man films were pretty ridiculous. i really doubt any kungfu master could hold their own against hordes of trained bad guys with weapons. or fight 10 karate black belts at once and fucking destroy them. i was actually surprised they even let ip man take any shots in the twister fight after the absurd beatdowns they showed in ip man 1
