What do we even have for best picture nomination this year? Will this be the worst oscars ever?
I can't even fucking think of one movie deserving to be nominated for best picture. Maybe Green Room? Maybe Jungle Book? It won't be any cape movie. Jesus christ the bar is so fucking low when those are so far the best movies of the year.

Everybody Wants Some, you tasteless fucking faggot
oscar baits all release during the fall

We had this same exact thread in October of last year.
>>70736638
This, it's not even close to Oscarbait Season yet.
It's not even fucking July yet. Oscar dramas don't come out until the end of the year.

This year wasn't great, thought spotlight was just ok
Since this thread is pointless, as it's not even close to Oscar bait season, let's talk about the disappointments of the 2016 Oscars.
Only pleb flicks like Batman and Superman and Civil War come out early in the year. The patrician kino like Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange are going to sweep the awards.
and the Best Picture goes to...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4196450/
http://www.indiewire.com/2016/03/20-films-we-hope-to-see-at-the-2016-cannes-film-festival-263675/
Some really good movies are coming out this year, new stuff from Pedro Almodovar, Xavier Dolan, Jeff Nichols, Jim Jarmusch, Chan Wook Park, Ben Wheatley, Malick, Refn, Herzog, Scorsese, the list goes on...
Can we consider the "lobster" (xD) as this year best foreign movie / best script ? It deserves a shot. Also cannes is the protip
>>70739182
that was last year.
>>70739197
But only screenings in LA count i dunno
>>70738699
Can you imagine the outrage if civil war one best pic. lol. /tv/ would be in meltdown.
>its an OP doesnt know what Oscar season is episode
>>70736583
Call me /pol/ but theres no way The Free State of Jones doesnt get a nomination due to last years Muh White Oscars.
Silence will probably win.
>>70738800

I doubt any of these films will end up in the Oscar race. Most of them are too indie or controversial for this.
>>70739820
shut up
zootopia is cashing that animated oscar and you know it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj2AZm54O08
>>70739918
Or Moana. Either way Disney wins.
>>70739890
4 of them are by previously nominated established directors. Passengers could be the Interstellar of 2016. Weiner is probably on par with Spotlight in terms of controversy. Birth of a Nation was a favorite at Sundance. Loving is the perfect Oscarbait. Elle could be a longshot though.
>>70739918
>>70739958
Fuck I meant Zootopia instead of Inside Out. Finding Dory, Moana, and Pete's Dragon are all Disney animated flicks as well but Zootopia was a huge success.
>>70740110
Elle is a Verhoeven French film about a domineering female enjoying getting raped. It won't be nominated.
>>70739820
>Animated
>>Inside Out
>>Moana
>>Pete's Dragon
>>Finding Dory
>>BFG
Inside Out came out last year and Pete's Dragon and BFG aren't animated.
>>70738699
if dark knight didn't get a nom, civil war shouldn't. that being said, i won't be surprised if it did. martian got a nom too.times change i guess.
>>70740499
I guarantee Civil War won't get a nomination, there's not THAT much buzz about how good it is.
>>70736583
Babby's first Oscars?
Fuck off newshitter
>>70738932
>implying a movie about the Nat Turner revolt could be bad especially when the title parallels it to racially charged cinematic masterpiece
The Witch and Zootopia are still the best things to have come out and they'll both get completely snubbed.
>>70739820
>Inside Out listed
>not listing the guaranteed winner Zootopia
honestly this couldnt be a more troll list
