I expect lots of savage insults and bullying similar to Chris Stuckmann's awful rewrite of BvS.

>>Movie starts with a 30 minute prologue detailing the death of the Draini (and Garona's relationship to them), the dying state of Dranor, and the desperate state of the Horde as it suffers from civil war, overpopulation, and famine. The movie opens with the final battle against the Draini, as Blackhand, Doomhammer, and Durotan are shown as old war comrades. Ner'zhul attempts to save his race via a bargain with a demonic entity Kil'Jaden but backs out, but his apprentice Gul'dan begins communing with Kil'Jaden himself and makes the bargain. Each Chieftain is offered a chance to drink from Gul'dan's chalice and pass their powers onto their clan, all accept besides Durotan and Ner'zhul. Ner'zhul goes into self-imposed exile while Durotan is convinced to stay by Doomhammer, who is more brutal and vicious than he is in Jones' film but still capable of honor/friendship. Blackhand is more of a conservative and good-intentioned but indecisive ruler (think a more brutal Emperor Franz Josepf) while Hellscream is a raving lunatic to contrast later with his redemption arc in sequels. Garona is introduced at this point to spy on Durotan on the orders of Gul'dan. Durotan quickly sees through her purpose and sends her back to Gul’dan to demonstrate his independent streak. The first act ends after Gul'dan begins constructing the Dark Portal after communing with Kil'jaden similar to Loki and Thanos in Avengers 1, and it is hinted that he is receiving help on the other end on the target world. The scene ends with Kil’Jaden breaking the psychic communion before speaking to a shadowed archimond, stating that sargeras will soon be restored.

>Set up the initial horde forays into Azeroth, at which point we start to see human characters. Dwarfs/Elfs are seen in the background of council meetings but they play no role in this film. Khadgar and Lothar meet Garona from Medivh who has received her from Gul'dan as an emissary seeking magical aid in completing the portal. On the way out of Medivh’s tower he sees the cloaked figure as he does in the film. Garona is imprisoned by the king but is shown kindness and is treated as a legitimate emissary as they don't understand who Gul'dan is despite her hinting he has no honor, Lothar and Khadgar convince Medivh to make an attempt on the portal after they're ambushed investigating an orc raid.

>Back to orc side (about 1.20 hours into the movie) that has Guldan and his shadow council of warlocks seen instructing Blackhand to begin a march north so they can discover a magical artifact: the tomb of a demon king. Gul’dan intends to use it to ascend to godhood. The shadow council flat out orders Blackhand to sacrifice the Frostwolf clan in the attack on Stormwind because they’re unreliable. The conversation is spied on by Durotan and to save his clan he convinces Doomhammer to usurp power from Blackhand as having a bunch of demon-worshipping warlocks control the horde isn’t very honorable. Against the wishes of Durotan who wants to simply target Gul’dan, Doomhammer takes a direct approach challenges Blackhand to a duel. Blackwind wins despite losing a hand thanks to his dark magic-enhanced strength. Doomhammer sees the benefits of Gul’dan’s magic. Blackhand allows Doomhammer to live despite urging from Gul’dan and even allows him to serve as a front-line grunt in the blackrock clan. However he thinks that Durotan tried to manipulate Ogrim into doing his dirty work, and disgusted with his seemingly cowardly un-orcish behavior has the whole Frostwolf clan imprisoned.
>>
>Now about 1.5 hours into the movie, cut back to the human side where Medivh’s slow corruption is noticed by Khadgar (particularly after he has a dream showing the cloaked figure from Medivh’s tower battling a demon) who takes it to Dalaran. The meeting with a remnant of Medivh’s mother goes much like it does in the movie, with her revealing shes largely dead thanks to the slow decay following the birth of her son. Meanwhile Garona, having lived in Stormwind for several months and close to the king, starts to give him legit insight into Gul’dan and his purpose to seek the Demon King’s tomb. The last part of the act has Lothar, Medivh, and Lothar’s son lead a counteroffensive against the orc positions near the dark portal. The battle fails thanks to a massive orc ambush and Medivh’s weakness combined with Gul’dan unleashing a mass pre-planned fel magic ritual on the azeroth army. Lothar’s son thanks to pure luck manages to badly wound Blackhand, who is forced to use fel magic taught to him by Gul’dan (as part of corrupting him) to heal himself. Now near fully corrupted, Blackhand devours Lothar’s sons soul and gives into Gul’dan’s lobbying on the fate of the Frostwolf clan. He orders them exterminated, but during the chaos Durotan and his waifu/baby manage to escape. Gul’dan is next seen psychically visiting Garona in her dreams, revealing he planned her actions thus far and has been spying on Azeroth’s king through him, which is how the orcs knew the attack was coming. Garona attempts to flee Stormwind but falls into a forced coma by Gul’dan and is found by the guards lifeless. The king sends mages to try and wake her up but nothing works.
>>
>Now 2.20 hours into movie, Khadgar emerges from Dalaran, having spent months communing with Medivh’s mother. He reveals the full extent of Medivh’s betrayal; he is possessed by a portion of the same demon whose tomb Gul’dan seeks. Immediately teleporting from Dalaran to Stormwind with the help of the Kirin Tor, Khadgar reveals that the demon king sargeras was defeated by medivh’s mommy before possessing his body in the womb and waiting for him to mature before taking control, then manipulating these events via his subordinates to restore his form. He also reveals that Medivh-demon’s strength is what is feeding Gul’dan’s powers in Azeroth until the world can be fully corrupted like Dranor was. Lothar asks why they didn’t tell him about Medivh’s betrayal sooner, and Khadgar is shocked to discover what seemed like minutes for him in the chamber had been months on the outside. Meanwhile, Durotan and his waifu are continuing to flee from Gul’dan’s agents. The waifu dies after having baby thrall escape downriver and in a fury Durotan manages to kill the rest. Durotan arrives at Stormwind only concerned about vengeance and offering aid to lead a counterattack against the encroaching horde. Thanks to the advice of Garona who knows he’s honorable from her days of spying the king agrees.
>>
>Now 2.45 hours into movie, the Horde advances on Stormwind and are met by an alliance army led by Lothar and Durotan. Durotan and Blackhand meet each other on the battlefield. Lothar tries to help but ends up fighting Doomhammer, still serving as a menial grunt. He thinks Durotan is a traitor by this point. Garona is suddenly awakened by Gul’dan and is forced to kill the king in his chambers. She then jumps off the castle wall after regaining control of her own body. Meanwhile, Khadgar and a group of paladins and kirin tor wizards battle a demon-possessed Medivh and succeed in killing him. Blackhand bests Durotan in the fight. With Medivh’s death, Gul’dan’s back magic begins to weaken and Blackhand regains some of his senses and spares Durotan as Stormwind falls around them. Gul’dan is furious and struggles to kill Durotan himself as his magic is so weakened, but ultimately succeeds. Gul’dan collapses from exhaustion and the mental stress of Medivh’s death. Sensing the opportunity is right and sad over what happened to Durotan, Doomhammer kills Blackhand but does not end Gul’dan as he thinks he can benefit from his power as Blackhand did but this time control him rather than vice-versa. Final bit with Lothar leading refugees out of Stormwind as Khadgar meets up with him. Gul’dan wakes up as the Shadow Council is being burnt on pyres around him and is chained by Doomhammer and forced to be his magic slave as the new warchief says the horde will march north to conquer the world. With his powers so weakened with Medivh’s death Gul’dan is forced to play along and later in a mental communion with Kil’Jaden desperately states that he can still serve a purpose and will be able to reopen Sargeras’ tomb in the end.

Movie ends with Thrall being rediscovered by humans.

Total Length = 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Its an ok rewrite but still wont bump the movie from its 7.5-8/10 rating right now
>>
A 1:1 retelling of the first war would take 3 movies and nobody has time for all that shit.
>>
>>70700832
>yet people have time for 8 lotr movies
>>
>>70700882
There were 3 LOTR movies which were much larger in scope.

The first war was honestly kind of boring, it's basically

>orcs invade
>orcs initially get BTFO
>orcs burn SW to the fucking ground
>humans retreat to Lordaeron
>fin

3 movies to accomplish all of that would be a slog. They didn't even finish it with this movie and they skipped a ton of stuff already.

I'm interested to know what the studio cut from the release we got. good enjoyable movie overall but the those deleted scenes might help it flow better and provide more character developments and such
