Blizzard's early games were not entry level, as PC gaming was still growing and almost nothing on the platform was entry level.
WoW, in it's early days, was successful because it took concepts from previous games like Everquest, simplified them and made them accessible and easy to learn by anyone. This coupled with the fact that it had great marketing and cutscenes that showed off the scale of the world, is why it became so many people's first MMO. It was the definition of an entry level game for a genre.
Diablo 3 appealed to former Diablo players, but also WoW players who had never touched a loot-driven hack and slash game before. Remember the annual pass for WoW? The one that gave you a free copy of Diablo 3, which was plastered on the WoW launcher for months?

Hearthstone did the same thing with tie-ins, leeching off the popularity of World of Warcraft and the gaming casuals within to create it's initial playerbase. Granted, Hearthstone involved into a pretty deep and polished game compared to anything else in it's genre.
HotS is just a dumbed-down and simplified version of LoL and DOTA 2. The only moba players who play it over the alternatives are those who haven't tried/were intimidated by/were terrible at the alternatives, or those wanting a break from them.
Overwatch is the biggest casual-puller of the lot so far. It appeals to people whose only experience with a team shooter is playing Call of Duty on Xbox over at a friends house on a Friday night. It is fun, but it is very basic and derivative, heroes can be ""mastered"" within 30 minutes, it has 5 hours of content at launch, for a full price of $40/$60, and is being rated 10/10 Game of the Year by Blizzdrones the world over.

Lothar honestly felt like Travis Fimmel was confused with the role and used his Ragnar accent a lot.
King Llane was pretty bland and uninteresting, like his wife and any other Stormwind related person.
Garona was pretty good, but in the beginning a little cringe since she spoke in broken English to show that she recently learned the language.

That boomstick shit was actually pretty dumb tho. It made sense to get new weapons from the Dwarves but honestly the humans were like wet paper when fighting the orcs in melee without a gun.
I enjoyed it since I knew what the fuck was going on. I spotted a lot of things that were changed from the lore. I thought they were done alright. But this movie is very flawed. The pacing was its biggest problem. The scenes feels like they are 30 seconds to 1 minute each. The acting is mediocre as fuck but I don't think its the fault of the actors (except Ragnar fucking Lothbrok who plays the same fucking character he does in Vikings). I think Duncan dropped the ball in directing the actors. Also, the special effects were a terrible decision. Sometimes it felt like watching a cartoon. Also, the size of the orcs against humans doesn't make any sense in the battles.
The orcs have strength, and the humans have tech. How else do humans beat 8 foot pure muscle über orcs in combat without projectile weaponry? I liked the usage of pistols, I find the historic transition from chivalric warfare to muskets fascinating, when knights lost ground to firepower. Strength and melee prowess doesn't matter against firearms.

On the whole, people tend to buy video games based on preexisting loyalties and recommendations from friends. World of Warcraft was no different. Due to its social nature as an MMO as well as genius marketing at the time, it was able to propagate itself as the mainstream MMO of its day.
The main reason people play WoW is simply that it is WoW. It isn't story, gameplay, graphics, or any of the usual performance metrics.

To me, yes it was. Whether or not its a bit rushed, I really got into the characters. Especially Durotan, he was just awesome. I admit I'm a bit biased since I have played the game a long time, but I also love fantasy movies and this hit both points well (and much better than the 3rd Hobbit movie).
Also they couldn't have cast Blackhand any better.
