Hell, I enjoyed Big Eyes more than Big Fish. Big Fish came off to me as a lame fairy tale Forrest Gump. It didn't really suit Tim Burton's style.

I haven't seen Big Eyes yet, so that can't really be truly answered by anyone until I form that opinion.

I think it's much better overall than the original. First had Wilder and everything through the tunnel scene is good, but then it falls off fast and looks like a cheap set with no "magic" in it at all. The remake stays interesting enough and captures the fantastical aspect of the book much better
