Gods of Egypt didn't flop because of white actors anon, its because it looked about as good as the other movies that came before it, Clash and Wrath of the Titans, which were awful. Ghost in the Shell will bomb because no adult with a job gives a fuck about anime or anime adaptations. Entertaining but absolutely not a good movie, I liked the adventure feel it had to it, with characters learning to get along and encountering wierdos along the way and fighting bad guys on their quest.
It was complete schlock and doesnt try to be anything more than that, no lofty dialogues and deeper meaning, just an adventure movie with a larger than life stage. When people say "its just a popcorn movie" this is a prime example of what that should be.
