Sometimes when the bad breaks you gotta take a glass half full. But remember, when you show you're thirsty the other will come after you like a fucking vulture. You don't know the severity of your actions, but I do, I do. Remember to reap what you sow, so the reaper doesn't come and drink that glass empty on the table that is your life.

Hey /tv/ I've never watched true detective, is it worth a go?
I've recently gone through Fargo both seasons and Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy. Will I enjoy this show?
>>70607133
Yes. Season 1 is great. Season 2 is good but not as good as S1.
>>70607224
Thanks anon I'll check out S1 then, have a fantastic day!
Pizzolatto is a fraud.
>>70607795
this. it was all cary and actors
It was literally a homage to Twin Peaks and taking jabs at Liberal logic I enjoyed it more than S1 I think.
Rachel McAdams was pretty fucking hot if I'm being honest. That ass.

No way to prove that outrageous claim. It was the glorious chemistry between Woody and Matt if anything.
>>70608017
>she never busted that ass out in full glory
Such a shame, I needed to see that thing take a pounding.
>>70604657
wrong it wasnt as big a piece of shit
>>70610051
>No way to prove that outrageous claim.
Let's see.
Beasts of No Nation: Excellent, pristine direction and cinematography.
Jane Eyre: Very good, looked amazing
True Detective Season 1: Absolute kino tier direction
True Detective Season 2: Garbage direction, lacking atmosphere, tension, wonderment
Yeah, as I said, the actors also did a damn fine job but Cary's direction made it, as evidenced by every other quality project he's worked on. Not outrageous in the least.
>>70610051
how is that in any way outrageous? he did a good ass job covering the poor writing. but of course the actors were also responsible for that.
>>70610197
>True Detective season 1
>1 solid director
>TD season 1
>bunch of worthless hacks
I'm still not buying into this meme that "lelele cary did all le good stuff xD". And forget that TD season 2 was rushed out in like eight months while Pizzaman had six years at least to craft the scripts for season 1.
And never mind that as soon as it became clear that Season 2 wasn't going to be exactly the same as Season 1, everyone turned on it completely and gave it no shot at all.
>>70610503
>And never mind that as soon as it became clear that Season 2 wasn't going to be exactly the same as Season 1, everyone turned on it completely and gave it no shot at all.
We all gave it a shot Nick. There was some good stuff amongst the mess. The finale, silly and deeply flawed, had moments of genuine pathos. Anyway, good luck in your next venture. TAKE YOUR TIME.
>>70607595
That guy is retarded btw. Season 2 is way better than season 1. Episode 1-5 of s1 is probably better, but season 2 is better on average.
>>70610655
I was rushed by HBO faggot and they stuck me with six shit tier directors and played up some fictional rift between me and Cary for publicity.
>>70610782
>Season 2 is way better than Season 1
No one can actually unironically believe this, right? Season 2 was good, better than lots of other shit out there, but it was not "way better than Season 1".
>>70610836
The 2nd half of season 1 is inexcusably shit.
>>70610861
Well that's just, like, your opinion, man. There's nothing wrong with the second half of season one, you just seem to be mad that there wasn't an eldritch horror at the end and everything wasn't tied up all nice and neat with a pretty bow on top.
>>70609754
This
>>70610197
outrageous, fuck off cuck
s2 has more atmosphere than s1 and its set in california lol
>>70604657
Some people say OP is a faggot.
What if we're all faggots Ray? What if we're all faggots and OP is the only non faggot here. You know; sometimes in life it feels like I'm the only ice cube left in the oven.
Casper knew this.
>>70611535
>s2 has more atmosphere than s1
>outrageous, fuck off cuck
about the insight i'd expect, yeah
you're doing great
>>70604657
Just fuckin get out of here already. It's sad how all these new shits are seeing the season for the first time now just because it aired a year ago. If it wasn't fucking good there wouldn't be S2 threads nearly every day lately.
When the whole world stinks, your nose might be a foot. So spare me the sententious talk, it's picayune and unctious.
>>70610096
God damn that would have been fucking epic.
Just a fuckin full on scene of her getting pounded doggy with overhead shots and everything.

we were robbed, that one scene we got with her walking around in her underwear was the hugest tease, led me to believe good things were to come.

Season 1 was carried by the performances of 2 actors who knew each other their whole lives. The dialogues was cringeworthy and the story went no where. The cinematography was on point. Daddario's boobs went mainstream.
>>70613058
don't forget all the ass in s1
>>70611079
>you just seem to be mad that there wasn't an eldritch horror at the end
It's always disappointing when a detective story ends with an action scene against a "final boss", but this one was especially disappointing. The root of the whole mystery is an inbred retard in the swamp who just gets shot and then everyone goes home?
>>70615295
Kek, Errol wasn't the final boss. He was just a glorified executioner. The real final boss had moved on to Washington now, was a Senator, and used his connections to cover up and distance himself from the scandal surrounding Errol Childress' crimes. The root of the whole mystery is that there was no winning, Rust and Marty had to settle for "getting their guy", who was a leftover after the cult had moved on and was running it in line with his vision. The real bad guys got away with it and Rust had to take some minor victory in the face of insurmountable evil. And Rust hardly "goes home", he was changed profoundly by what he saw in Carcosa and by what he saw in his comatose state, or what he felt rather.
>>70615696
Wow, someone who isn't a complete retard posting in a TD thread. Who would've thought.
