I saw Warcraft last night and didn't hate it, but I can't imagine anyone who isn't a fan of the series would get much out of it.
The film has no flow, there are distinct scenes which are usually fine in and of themselves, but the transitions between those scenes are often pretty awful.
Everything with the Orcs works fine, but the alliance stuff looks pretty cheap, having TV actors everywhere didn't help there.
The action sequence in kharazhan especially looks like something out of a 90's fantasy film.
I'm still glad this thing exists, and that china will ensure that it gets a sequel.

Was at the Australian Premiere last night. It really is that bad.
It's like Final Fantasy the movie all over again - wooden acting, bad CGI and terrible stilted dialogue and cliches. After the intro on Draenor and the initial party crossing into Azeroth, it just nosedives as scenes come and go with shitty editing and nothing explained or established. Most of the Alliance characters are awful and poorly acted. Khadgar is probably the worst, Lothar tries having rogueish charm but the writing can't support him, and Dominic Cooper as Llane is just bizarre. Medivh is just a confused performance.
Only good characters were Durotan and Gul'dan. Gul'dan because he's like Sheev and is just based evil. Durotan is like Caeser from Planet of the Apes and is performed pretty well by Toby Kebbell. I don't think they ever show why he's so respected among orcs or how he got to be chieftan though? The entire movie he's a massive pussy and doesn't kill one human. He's just sensible orc man, but there's no balance to his character, they go too far into making him sympathetic, so not even Durotan's storyline is that good.
I don't know, its probably a 1-2 star movie. The magic looked cool I guess.
