No. One of my earliest memories is my father renting me Friday the 13th and Return to Oz from Fox Video and watching them alone while he was at work in the evening. Return to Oz scared me more than the 13th and that was the one that left a weird impression on me. Neither fucked me up though. You don't know what's going to fuck up your kids.

Depends on what developmental stage they are at.
I remember watching these movies as a kid and never had nightmares or was negatively affected by it.
But at the same ages I watched The Neverending Story and I still have fucking nightmares about pic related.
Being a kid is the best age to watch scary movies.
