If you feel that way then you weren't an enthusiast to begin with. When movies like jurassic park got out on laser disc, people who wanted that rushed out to buy it and don't feel regret decades later because it's a nice thing to have in your collection, even though the blu-ray is visually superior, that's without mentioning the superior sound and image it has over streaming and rips. Also, people don't necessarily feel to rush out and upgrade their collection every time a new format comes out
I can buy a 1tb hard-drive for the same price as your shitty Blu-ray and store any quality video I want.
