I don't care what anyone says, suicide squad is going to be awesome. Will Smith as Deadeye? or Leto as Joker?
Don't get me wrong, he did a decent Ali. But him as Deadeye is so fucking good as a DC fan that it's unreal.
It's not terrible, but it's not exactly good. It also never really felt like the character was Ali, just Will Smith playing a boxer.

Probably not the most popular opinion but I think Jamie Foxx would have been the much better choice at the time. Denzel Washington if they made it 10 years earlier. Today I have no clue.

it's hagiographic and elides ali's failings (especially with regards to the nation of islam and his fallout with malcolm x) and it's oddly dour considering its subject, but it's well-made and will smith was a good choice. best we're liable to ever get.
