Bourne redefine action filmmaking.
Look at movies like the Mission Impossible franchise, The Incredible Hulk (it's basically an action thriller for the first half of the movie), Captain America: The Winter Soilder (it's action is very similar to Bourne), Taken, and John Wick. These are basically Bourne ripoffs in your eyes but that's where you're wrong.
Bourne set a blueprint and standards for the modern action film, if bond didn't go with that style the franchise would be dead.

Casino Royale was just a breath of fresh air in the series needed. And it's not like something similar (tone wise) hadn't already been tried before (OHMSS). I just think they pushed too hard with making Bond a character with the rest of the Craig entries. And they didn't do a good job with it. Spectre had a plot twist straight out of Austin Powers and retconned its predecessors.
