Ok time to settle this once and for all.

Which Dawn of the Dead was the best? Is zombie related entertainment forever going to be resigned to TWD? And the most important question of all..

Would you survive a zombie apocolypse?

Hard mode; They run
Anon must die mode; They sprint
>>
Return of the Living Dead>>>>>anything else
>>
The Zombies from World War Z are pretty much impossible to overcome if they come at you in hordes.
>>
Zombie2
>>
Man, I used to love Romero's work. I might watch a couple today thanks to you.

>Which Dawn of the Dead was the best?
The original.
>Is zombie related entertainment forever going to be resigned to TWD?
Who cares. The genre itself is of the walking dead.

Your last question is reddit bullshit.

Best zombie movies: Day of the Dead and Zombi 2

>Is zombie related entertainment forever going to be resigned to TWD
Maybe. TWD is the natural evolution of the genre. I think a lot of folks are burnt out of tuning on a zombie movie just to see ACTION ACTION ACTION... GET TO THE CHOPPA! The End (?) If TWD isn't the end of the genre I see more character focused shows and miniseries over typical cookie cut films.

Recently watched Return of the Living Dead 3. Not that great, but Melinda Clarke has topless scenes in it, that alone makes it worth watching.

Dawn of the Dead 2004 is better than the original.

And contrary to popular /v/ and /tv/ memes, Resident Evil 1 and 2 are actually decent.

wow

You have good taste

>>70315596
I meant as I remember it as a kid during the 80's.
>>
>>70315681
I thought I read that it was renovated shortly after the film. Don't hold me to my word of course.

They removed the ice rink and put in a food court.
They only part that look familiar in the movie to me is the fountain area and steps. That was the same until the late 90's when they removed the fountain.

>they haven't replaced the services controls in the mall in almost 40 years
disgusting
>>
Does anyone remember the zombie movie (made in early 90s maybe) that has zombies attack protesters trying to help the zombies?

Kind of low budget tier
>>
>>70314880
Well having seen both of them far too many times I think the 1978 one is better, the zombies somehow manage to be more off putting and creepy than the ones in the remake, plus the whole slow fall of society is a fun thing to watch.

The remake starts off on a great footing, the first 10-15 minutes are gold and the intro of "The Man Comes Around" playing over the unfolding chaos is amazing. Once they get to the mall the movie starts to suffer though, there's too many characters to really give a fuck about any of them, and the entire subplot with the zombie baby was predictable and kind of stupid.
>>70315209
Day of the Dead is my favorite zombie movie, it's a shame what they did in that shitty direct to DVD remake... poor Ving Rhames, I wonder how they got him to be in it?

>Which Dawn of the Dead was the best?
Romero's original cut. Argento's cut was ok if you just want the gore, but he cut so much of the character development that the movie feelt a bit thin (get it?).

>Is zombie related entertainment forever going to be resigned to TWD?
Seems so. It went mainstream. Kinda like what happened to Star Trek with the JJ movies.

>Would you survive a zombie apocolypse?
Yes, my name is aunt Alicia
>>
>>70316086
Guess I'm the only patrician that has watched non mainstream shit.

Day of the Dead is best.

Though I prefer the Original because of the more uses in mall activities compared to the 2004. 2004 one is still pretty great don't get wrong.
>>
>>70315551
but the newest Resident Evil is fucking great.
>>
>>70317457
Yeah... the mall activities in 2004 consist of a 30 second long montage, then its back to the coffee shop and roof the rest of the movie.
>>
>>70316086
>>70316822

Nevermind I found it on my own.
>>
>>70315551
All of the "Return" films are great.

Savini's Night of the Living Dead in colour is fantastic. Don't get the bluray though. They underexposed everything to absurd levels so you can't actually see anything.
>>
>>70317948
>All of the "Return" films are great.

don't lie to people.

1 & 2 are 9/10 films.
3 is for waifu virgins
the rest are pure shit.
>>
>>70317873
I loved watching Andys perspective. It's been a while though since I have, did it ever explain what it was he was talking to in the video? Like he's look to the side and say stuff like "I know, baby"
>>
>>70315822
Heard the mall nowadays is shit, and is rife with crime and gang activity.
>>
>>70317974
... they made more than 3? ok I take that back.

3 is still great don't even try to deny it.
>>
>>70317991
Just like in the movie, then
>>
>>70318012
wait I take back that take back. 4 looks pretty decent?

Are you talking about the special andy documentary feature on the dvd?

I think he was talking to his daughter either before or after she turned into a zombie.

its been a while though.

The Dead Next Door (1989)

I don't remember if its actually good to watch though. I last saw it in the 90's.

Andy was talking to the goldfish his daughter gave him, he said he hoped his bitch of an ex wife dropped his daughter off at her grandparents before things went sideways.

The original OP. The Zach Snyder one may as well not exist. I saw both at 13 years old and it was obvious to me which was the better film.

I just knew the new one was too simplistic
>>
>>70314880
Zombie Flesh Eaters/Zombi 2 is the high watermark of all zombie films. That fight with the shark is pretty fucking mental if you think about it.
>>
>>70323295
That movie is boring as shit.
also the shark visibly has no teeth.

Italians suck at movies that arent westerns

>>
>>70314880
They're both good but DotD 2004 is better.
>>
>>70324316

land of the dead or whatever the fuck that stupid movie was.

>saw it at the dollar theatre in high school and got to fingerblast this hot chick during it tho so wasnt all that bad B^)
>>
>>70324316
He believed that people actually watched his movies for the social subtext, instead of the great atmosphere, gore and direction.
>>
>>70324561

I believe you.
>>
>>70324580

Basically this.

People certainly enjoyed the social subtext but only as a subtext. Once that's all the movies were about it went downhill pretty fast.
>>
>there are actual people who hold the position that DOTD '04 is better than '78
>>
>>70318091
the only part of that movie that's ironically enjoyable is the suit up scene to Godsmack.

It's either Romeros cut or Argentos euro cut.
