When I first saw the poster and concept for the movie I was pretty interested. I've always loved space exploration, especially in a "realistic" sense. I thought this movie was going to be a somewhat realistic approach to mankind exploring the stars and finding out what else might be out there.
I just expected a lot of beauty from the spacescapes. Naturally they had to have some world-ending event going on with Earth that forced mankind to leave. Then they had the stuff about "love guiding the way" and I lost all interest.
I had no interest in a story of time travelling family bonds and such. I just wanted to fucking see space.

Coop sends himself into the black hole to reduce weight and gave Anne Hathaway the best chance for survival.
The black hole contains a tessaract, which Coop assumes was made by futuristic multidimensional humans. The ascended humans needed a method to read the gravity data from inside the black hole so they could exist in the first place, and the method of this transferal would be the love between Coop and Murph.
The tesseract is basically a 3-dimensional representation of the entire timeline of the library. Coop is able to manipulate things in the library such as the orientation of objects, etc, and the whole plan hinges on him using the room to send himself into the future so he can deliver the data to Murph, which requires Murph figuring out that the 'ghost' is her dad through the connection established in things like "STAY" and tugging on the watch's hands.
He completed his task of transmitting the data before being shunted through the wormhole in time to see he daughter die.
If you didn't understand the movie, you are simply a pleb.
Love never trancended space and time (that line was a pleb filter from the very beginning).
Gravity was the only thing that transcended space and time if you actually paid attention to the movie and watched it.

Everybody on the Cooper space station was on the way to Anne's Planet, Cooper simply wanted to get there faster so he left early.
The wormhole was still open, the Cooper Space Station already passed through the wormhole, that's how they were able to find Cooper floating along in space after the black hole spit him out.
Nolan has always been good at making high budget films a little more ambitious story-wise than the norm. Which isn't saying much, seeing all movies are supposed to be viewable for ten-year-olds, nowadays, but still, it was nice. All his movies up to Inception are done extremely well, but now, it looks like he just cares about upholding his reputation as "the guy who makes plebs think"

I might not be entirely correct but I think that's the gist. They worked out if they went to planet one they could still get to planet two, but if they went straight to planet three the fuel requirement would allow no more trips.
