Basically no information to go off of, but if this is in the Prime Universe I really hope they set it in a time beyond the TNG/DS9/Voyager era. I don't think it's good for Trek to get too bogged down with continuity by creating an interquel series. A series set further in the future would still need to address continuity, but not as much.
In First Contact, when Riker, Geordi and Cockrain are on the Phoenix and the Enterprise is coming near, Riker says that they are probably coming to send them ff, but wouldn't Riker know at that point that the ship is lost to the Borg and that there is a very good chance that they are flying the ship there to finish their mission and stop first contact, i.e. destroy the Phoenix?
