Do these works of art deserve the critical respect and admiration they get?

Weird two to pick bruh, the former is on a different level than the latter in the context of each medium.
mbdtf deserves it

>not liking fincher's magnum opus

Both are quite similar. Both come after the creator's weakest and most light works (808s and Benjamin Button)
Both involve huge amounts of technical work and precision put into the effort.
Both were released to rave reviews.
Both deal with 21st century culture and hedonism.

Twisted Fantasy is Kanye's worst album. Why is it so highly regarded?

I'll give you a full rundown of the possible opinions

Kanye the GOAT! The social network was really intense, it won a lot of awards. I love both!

Kanye's work defined hip hop (and popular music) for a generation. The Social Network was overhyped and I don't like Jesse Eisenberg
alternatively
"I hate them both!"

Kanye West makes hip hop, the more repetitive and least creative genre in pop music history. His album is better than most hip hop, but still ultimately hip hop i.e. lazy and uninteresting music. It also is mixed horribly, is totally reliant on corny features, and is dependent on multiple samples that were blatantly plagiarized. It is totally undeserving of its critical acclaim and if somebody tells you they like it, they're unintelligent.
The Social Network was a decent film by a decent director. Aaron Sorkin's script was well-written and Fincher's camerawork was solid. It deserves some critical recognition and that's what it got. It's not a particularly admired film within patrician communities and it probably never will be, so I'd say its current reception as a B+ film is appropriate.
