A bit old for the part and RDJ usually plays smooth talking smartasses. He's surprisingly good for a blockbuster actor but I don't know he can be convincing playing Gordon. Plus I don't know if Freeman is canonically a manlet.

He's much better than Morgan Freeman at playing wise negro. Him dubbing Captain Anderson in Mass Effect and his role in The Thing and They Live prove he fits in sci-fi settings without feeling like the diversity quota.
