Will we ever see a tv series like this again with full body suit anamatronics?
Or was a it a once in earths history type deal?
>we could all be sweet ass talking dinosaurs shitposting on 4scale right now if it weren't for that fucking meteor

Those are expensive and look unrealistic nowadays. CGI is around us all the time though, easily confused with actors.
Farscape used animatronics aswell, Pilot, Rygel and several secondary and extras were animatronics

And that still looks like CGI. Do people actually watch that stuff and think it looks 100% real?

Are you being "ironic?"
CGI will never look 100% real due to the fact that its CGI. The human eye and brain will always tell between what actually exists in the physical world and whats been made on a computer.

No doubt. Back then Jim Henson Productions had a ton of clout and experience making TV shows and movies, TV was more open to family shows that target people of all ages, there was a demand for TV that was more "real" and less sugar coated, people weren't so obsessed with being seen as adults and serious all the time too. Back then TV was just a lot more fun and varied. It was the perfect time to make a show like it and probably could not be done again.
