How does it feel that /tv/'s opinion on a work is going to be determined by reddit's opinion on it? The superior forum is so obsessed with the populares their stance has to be the polar opposite of /r/movies? That no matter how much quality is in this film or this director discussion will be whatever the negation of reddit's is.

The issue with things like Doom, Angry Birds and Pixels is that they're not exactly games with a lot of backstory/lore to draw on.
Sure, Hitman and Max Payne have storylines, but they're made for a video game and are quite rigid and unmoveable. When you've got like 15 years and 10 games worth of lore you can use, as well as a load of other shit, you COULD end up with a good film.
Hopefully Warcraft is good cause vidyakino would be nice.

Your roomate went through the wow period. I didn't play WoW.
I played 90s Warcraft which is why I still have faith in this film not sucking too much.
If I grew up with WoW, I'd probably think that the movie looks like shit too, but I didn't.

I hope he makes a overwatch movie next

The Warcraft RTS games are as respectable as the GOT novels, not on the story, but simply on the gameplay mechanics.
Also, Warcraft is actually older by 2 years than GOT. The only fantasy universe that has yet to make it big with mainstream audiences and that's Warhammer, which was first released in the 80s.
>>69983127
Congrats on knowing shit about box office, retard.
Studios make only a really small cut from worldwide records.
>>69983232
Congrats on thinking you know shit about anything
What is with all the memers saying that this will kill/end capeshit? The most realistic scenario is that Marvel movies and vidya movies both thrive
>>69980650
Ubisoft has made like what, 1 great game? Rest of the shit they made is average of above average at best. I certainly wouldn't trust them to come out with anything good when it comes to games, much less movies.
>>69983202
This sort of makes sense. I think this movie looks awful.
However if this was a Warhammer, let alone 40k, film with these same terrible effects I would be there for the first midnight screenings.

Yeah... not really.

wew lad, you sound like a retard.
post yfw it beats civil war and BvS combined.

It's the same as /v/ is with nintentoddlers and sonyggers. Cunts just falseflag and Over-exaggerate everything ironically. Truly the pinnacle of humour.
>>69983410
wew lad, you sound buttflustered I didn't just eat up your bullshit. kys
Wait a minute - who opens a movie on a Monday or Tuesday? Is this to fuck around with the revenue reporting and confuse the numbers?
>>69983316
Not likely since a trend will flood the market in that direction. Pacific Rim, Godzilla, Jurassic World are doing the same.

You know, If I was really interested in the visuals, I wouldn't be playing Warcraft.
Warcraft cinematics used to look like this.

And the actual gameplay looked like pic related. I still enjoyed the shit out of it though.

shill, for the love of god.
>>69983669
Pretty overage. My point is that I still enjoyed these cinematics today, and if Warcraft has bad visuals, I don't really care. The tacky designs is what gave it its charm anyway, compared to the gritty Warhammer.
>>69983391
So I decided maybe I was being unfair with that midnight show in central London. Here's how well it's preselling for the 8:45pm show. It's actually worse.

It really wasn't. Warcraft 3 looked absolutely dated for the time it came out.
WoW wasn't pushing tech limits (due to being an mmo) either.
