First season was gold, had great directing, writing and pacing. Second season was ok a few episodes were weird but the climax made up for it. Season 3 was when it started falling apart. Tons of filler episodes plus its when they started recapping the characters for the first two episodes for normies. Also glossed over a lot of story stuff. season four was as bad but the red wedding made up for it.
Season 5 is almost walking dead tier. A lot of the characters just talk back and forth like soap opera and very little character progression. Season 6 is fun so far with things actually happening again right from the first episode, except for maybe Arya arc. I accept that it will never be as good as the eirlier seasons and just want to see how it ends
So now Bran and Meera are alone, with no supplies, in the middle of the far north, a trip which almost killed them the first time, with an army of white walkers at their backs, presumably like 5 minutes away

"Night's King" doesn't exist in the books, at least not in the same sense he does in the show. There is no "main" Other in the books to act as a droid control ship. The Night's King was a Lord Commander of the watch a long time ago who married an Other and locked himself up in the Shadow Tower and got merked by the rest of the Watch.
