What if the next Avatar movie came out exlusively for VR? What if it was the first proffesional Movie production for VR, that would exclusively come with one of those newest upcoming VR headsets? An experience, where (You) become the lead character, who enters the body of a Navi?

I mean I think I'd probably buy that, only for the experience. Remeber how breathtaking the technology was back then? The issue isn't the story here. It's the opportunity. And Cameron looks like a very capable guy, who could actually do it. Am I right?

I mean think of all the amazing options. Scenes, where you'd be in a human body would resamble reality, but in a Navi body, you would see everything from a different perspective. And the tech allows this...

At long last...I have become the Avatar.

Exactly.

Nobody really wants to adress this idea? What company does Avatar belong to? Does that same company own a patent to a VR hardware?
>>
VR was a vidya gimmick that died quicker than motion control. Next stupid question.

porn will achieve real market penetration in VR, mark my words

There's no way to do current VR without drastically fucking your eyes to pieces.

Call me when there's a plug to jam into your temple that makes your brain hallucinate a movie instead.

Porn is the most technologically progressive industry in every period.

It wouldn't make much money.

But it wouldn't really be the movie being sold, but the Hardware.

that actually makes perfect sense. it fits thematically, and it would hit the market precisely at the all-time hig in VR interest, just as the first one did it for 3d. Cameron has carte blanche to experiment, and he's clearly into VR.

only issue is: can they get 3000 IMAX VR theathers ready for release date?

Finally someone intelligent enough. I haven't really researched the market, but I think if they managed to bring IMAX to such a broad audience, It would probably work the same way for this technology. Imagine how many bundle kits (VR unit + Avatar 2) would sell at day one...
