Green Room is not a joyful movie, but it is far from joyless.
BvS has no fucking soul. It just stuffs in hamfisted imagery in an attempt to somehow escape the manchild bullshit at its core. Snyder's vision for DC is one that is relentlessly embarrassed of source material and is awkwardly covering itself in a tonal shift which the source material isn't suited for. It's joyless not because the movie has a dark tone but because it is conceptually off in a jarring way. The Snyderverse feels like 2 different, unrelated ideas smashed on top of one another and served as a whole. It's just hard to look at.
