Hey I think he wasn't half bad actually

RIP sweet prince, at least you don't have to talk to Dave anymore
>>

Slayer >Metallica > Anthrax > Megadeath

Accurate as fuck, Megadave are shit
>>
>>69868106
Death > Opeth > Mastadon > SYL > Slayer

:^)
>>
>>69868106
I wouldn't even include Megashit in that power ranking

Otherwise it's spot on
>>
>>69868358
Why are you listing random bands?
>>
>>69868416
I'm filling in the blanks

Or do you seriously want to have a conversation about babby's first metal?
>>
>>69868358

I don't listen to metal outside of old school thrash and Sabbath so I'll take your word for it
>>
>metalshit drummer has poor eating habits and never exercises
Why are all metal "musicians" and metal fans so disgusting and skinnyfat?

As far as thrash is concerned Voivod > all

I don't listen to metal much since my highschool days
>>
>>69868673

Can't argue with that. If I'm feeling edgy or nostalgic I'll put on some Venom.

Don't forget about the copious amounts of cocaine.

I know those bands, but it lacks context, unlike the person to whom you replied.

Time to put on Holy Wars and drink a toast to Nick

Except most of Voivod's work isn't thrash, and some like Angel Rat and Nothingface are hard to argue as any kind of metal at all.

In my mind you can't call Voivod thrash or alternative or anything but Voivod. They literally carved out their own single-band genre.

He was their drummer at the band's Rust in Peace/Countdown peak years.

And every old-school and many current metal fans know exactly who he is.

Of course there's a lot of pop-metal with girl-singers dancing around and singing about relationship problems and a bunch of other inane bullshit while all the men have black shit on their eyes to make them look like coked-up zombie raccoons. And to me they don't count as metal. They're a modern incarnation of hair-metal minus the spandex and talented guitarists who could do more than power-chord

Actually Dave fired him years ago

>By the summer of 1998, while the band was still touring in support of Cryptic Writings, Menza was having knee problems and sought medical advice. He was informed he had a tumor, which was later found to be benign, and had it removed. Rather than cancel any dates, Megadeth hired Jimmy DeGrasso as a temporary replacement. When the time came to record a follow-up album, Menza was not asked back and DeGrasso became the band's official drummer. Menza has said in several interviews that, while in the hospital recovering from knee surgery, he received a phone call from Mustaine that simply said "Your services are not needed anymore".

Good old Dave

Stryper>Slayer >Metallica > Anthrax > Megadeath

fixed
>>
>>69870617

guess the other guy was a better drummer
>>
>>69870739
Yeah DeGrasso was pretty good too
>>
>>69868106
Fuck Slayer

They had their guitars turned up so fucking loud that you couldn't hear the singing or drums or bass or anything, and I have a permanent ringing in my ears after that shit

As far as live goes Anthrax was easily the best of the big four for live shows
