Did you guys know that the same people that adapted Preacher for AMC, are now also adapting The Boys for Cinemax? It's been greenlit already.
Preacher seems decent, if somewhat neutered. The Boys is more straight-forward, I can't really see how they'd screw it up.

And they've got it on Cinemax rather than regular cable. So I'd imagine they could be even more true to the source material
But then again it's the creator of Supernatural that's doing the writing

Will Mother's Milk stay intact, I wonder..

So we'll get a show about The Boys helping a cop to solve crimes with superpowered villains, with the overarching plot being about the most beloved superhero doing shady shit.

the fact that the comic is just blood, swearing and debauchery doesnt make you think of ways they could screw up a TV-adaption?

American TV is generally ok with violence. Stuff like the retarded descendant of Christ in Preacher is far touchier.

potential downside is that Cinemax (of all channels) is very likely to completely fuck up what was so fun about the comic and make it pretty bland.
I mean have you tried watching more than a couple episodes of Banshee? They get old and cliche really fast.

yeah but this is pretty much just gore and sex and not much else.
neeeeeever gonna happen
