It's absolutely disgusting. Hate to be one of those people but it still looks much better than CGI
I'm amazed at how much Romero didn't give a fuck and released the picture Unrated after the MPAA wanted to slap an X rating on it. While at the time the film suffered financially for this decision, there's a reason it has emerged to be 1 of the greatest zombie films ever made, and I would add to that 1 of the greatest independent films ever made.
To me its like a lost artifact of a past, parallel reality.

The music can't be understated either.
Goblin really ties the piece together in all facets.
The main theme is so haunting, and carries with it a terrible sense of forlorn abandon, isolation, and the slow impending doom of the situation.
