Well since I threw a bunch of criticisms out there, let's see if we can do better. I'll start pulling maps of fantasy places and some enterprising anon who cares more than me can stick them all on a giant globe.
Let's start with Xanth. Although Xanth's land is magic and can change shape. It used to look a lot more like Greece a few thousand years ago.
>>69749463
And the Hyborean Age. It can be tricky finding a map that is simple enough to transfer, yet looks good and has enough readable detail.
>>69749565
Toontown will be tricky. Too many actual places called that to find a decent layout of the fantasy land. Xanadu and the cultural myth lands would just look like the places they are from on Earth.
Found one for Pern though.
>>69748936
>Muliplos Islandos
10/10
>No Azeroth
>>69749802
Scale is an issue as well. Pern is an entire planet. Xanth is a single peninsula. And the world of Greyhawk is, well, HUGE. The Flanaess in pic related is supposed to be larger than the US (3-4k miles across).
Either lands will be shrunk, or the globe will be large enough to collapse into a star.
What about Nirn?
>>69751263
Nirn is the planet, Tamriel would be suited better
also
>no Albion
>>69751494
I know but Tamriel is just one continent.
>>69748464
>Not having at least Twelve Kingdoms
>>69747306
I don't know what 90% of these places are.
>>69752541
Very brave of you to admit such ignorance.
>>69752541
Neither do I
But I'm sure their knowledge correlates with virginity. Both genital and anal.
>>69749463
I always thought xanth was magic Florida after looking at the map
>>69752191
I never could finish that series.
>>69753950
Basically yes, but in Centaur Aisle it is learned that Xanth connects to Mundania (Earth) at different points of time, and will appear differently according to that period. In that book, when they cross the Isthmus they end up in Europe near Greece during the Punic Wars.
Basically any peninsula with magical legends is an account of traveling to Xanth - Greece, SE Asia, etc.
>>69747306
WHERE IS WEST METRO on this map?!
>>69754327
That's pretty cool. I never got that far in the series, or else I forgot about it.
>>69755136
Xanth, and later Piers Anthony in general, was my YA obsession. Centaur Isle was fairly early in the series (3rd or 4th) but no matter. The books drop rapidly in quality after the 10th (maybe up to the 15th to get Question Quest which is basically the history of Xanth).
Anthony in his Author's Note to his book Firefly basically shat all over the Xanth series. He was proto-blogging about some critics not liking all the sex in Firefly and how they figured he just wrote it for money. His words were "if I want to write schlock for money, I'll write more fantasy."
>>69747306
>no Tamriel
Normies I swear to fucking god LEAVE
>>69756176
>plebs yelling at normies
Your game didn't even come with a real map. Stop "fast traveling" and get on my level.
>>69747306
>whoville
what the fuck
>>69755420
I remember Ogre Ogre and that's about it really.
It's a damn shame to hear that he said that. That's a sizable portion of his life to shit on
>>69755589
This fills me with wonder. I like me some alternate earths
>>69756701
I kind of agree with him, if only because his sci-fi is filled with inventive thinking and creative sprouts for a young mind. If all you know of Piers Anthony is Xanth, then you should check out these:
Incarnations of Immortality - the Incarnations of Death, Time, Fate, War, Earth, Satan, and God (one book for each) adventure in a world where magic and science coexist.
Bio of a Space Tyrant - allegory of a Cuban refugee becoming dictator of America, but instead of Cuba he's from Ganymede, and the cold war is between Jupiter and Saturn
Tarot trilogy - hard to describe. Tarot cards become real on a planet, and all the religions believe it to be the work of God so all send a rep there. They ask for a mediator to come and "decide" which is the real religion. Lots of religious "what if" and navel gazing, but great for a young, exploring mind (though a bit raunchy in places).
But now I'm shitposting about book series when we should be looking at maps of fantasy worlds. Which, unfortunately, has all the best ones in books. Let's see if anyone recognizes these two.
1/2
>>69757101
Well damn. I figured SOMEONE would have put these two maps together. Now you'll deal with my shitty version.

>>69756476
Morrowind didn't have fast travel
Also
>implying I use the fast travel function in newer games
RAREST MAP OF MIDDLE EARTH COMING THROUGH!
>>69757699
Morrowind had bugs, and an automap. Ultima gave you a cloth map with runes.
If we can't have a content filter (THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT /tv/-RELATED CONTENT) can we at least have age and weight filters on /tv/?
Why do we have to have threads about the Xanth books on /tv/ in 2016? Just because you can't get away with them on /lit/?
Really wish some bored cartographer would map out End World from the Dark Tower books with a little more detail...
who /discworld/ here
>there will never be an emberverse TV series
Why fucking live?
