Which one was master race and why? 90's Nick kid here, my spoiled rotten neighbors watched Disney and I always hated going over there house to play because we'd watch some shit-tier show.
>>
Anyone remember the old shows Disney would play late at night? The only one I clearly remember is Zoro, but as a kid I'd get disappointed that there was no more regular programming. Now I wish they would still do that.

Nickelodeon wins because of nicktoons though sorry
>>
>>69686842

I've always been a Disney kid.
Talespin, Gargoyles, Chip&Dale, Darkwing Duck, Mighty Ducks are all cartoons I still hold dearly.

The Nick cartoons never really connected to me. I found Rugrats disgusting, never really liked Arnold, HATED Catdog and angry beavers and Rocko's modern life was downright disturbing.

I guess Spongebob was good and and Doug was okay.
>>
I had enough love for everything. Started with Disney I guess, then moved onto Cartoon Network and Nick, then occasionally back to Disney for delicious Lizzie McGuire and original movies.

The correct answer is Cartoon Network, friend
>>
>>69686842
Disney was part of the premium package back in those days. Nick was part of the basic package so I lived off Nick shows.

Yes we were poor.

NICKELODEON MASTER RACE NIGGAAAA

Although to be fair Cartoon Network has maintained a pretty consistent level of quality.

Yeah the PPG reboot was fucking horrifying (No Me Gusta? Is this fucking 2008?) but on the whole they do fairly well.
>>
Disney Channel was for stupid girls and gay kids.
>>
>>69687415
this. My dad actively made fun of my childhood best friend for watching Disney and collecting Beanie Babies.
>>
90's Cartoon Network was GOAT.
>>
We didn't have cable or satellite, just a rabbit ears antenna. KidsWB and the Saturday morning blocks on local channels were all I had to look forward to.

Disney was literally for girls, it was all shows meant to glamorize being a teenager and all the character have relationship drama and shit. I remember thinking my friends were faggy for watching it.

The real question is WB Kids v Fox Kids.

What did people watch on Saturday mornings?

>late 80's - mid 2000's
Nick hands down. Based Dan was cranking out gold like All That and Kenan & Kel. Not to mention 90's Nick cartoons that were funny as kids and still awesome years later when you could finally pick up on sex jokes and double entendres you missed as a kid. Rockos Modern Life was filled with them.
Anyway, Nick continued to dominate both live action and cartoons until the early 2000's with classics like Hey Arnold and Zoey 101. Disney was pissing out original movies left and right at the time. I think the were up to the third Zenon movie by then. That's not to say they were all bad though, Stuck in the Suburbs was a masterpiece and im sure there were plenty others.

>mid 2000's - present
Disney now dominates in all aspects. How the mighty nick studios fell so low is anyones guess, but probably liberals and their PC agenda is to blame. Cartoons have to be bland and simple theses days so they appeal to everyone regardless of cultural background. And of course we don't want to offend anybody.

Meanwhile, Disney had already been doing this for years. When Nick moved away from their trademark racier stuff and were scrambling for shit they could air to rebrand themselves as safe and family friendly, Disney simply took lessons from all the good shows Nick was known for and repackaged them for their audience. So you get stuff like Wizards of Waverly Place that would've never existed without Based Dans visionary crafts like Zoey and iCarly. All the same ingredients are present; clever dialogue that adults could enjoy, colorful and wacky wardrobes and set pieces, and probably most importantly, cuties in starring roles and cute outfits.
Basically Nick got cucked HARD and Disney just stepped in and delivered their flavor of Nick shows that appealed to young adults. They beat Nick at its own game in other words. Wizards was arguably better than iCarly.
Nick would try a few more times with shows like Victorious before eventually fizzling out. Disney continues to deliver though with stuff like Dog with a Blog

All the same ingredients are there, cool clever dialogue that adults can enjoy, cool and wacky colors that catch the eye, and of course, total cutie G Hannelius is the star of the show.(as she should be)
So Disney knows what we want now. They know what sells. They learned all too well from Dan. They've made it into a science. Look no further than Disneys own Liv & Maddie. This cutie Dove Cameron must've been made in a lab or something holy shit!

I've kinda strayed from the point I was originally trying to make but the bottom line is:
Disney has just become better at delivering what Nick pioneered in young adult humor cuties. Therefore Disney > Nick at the moment.
If you were a 90's kid, and I mean a real 90's kid not that born in the 90's fake shit, Nick will always hold a place in our hearts for conditioning us to love crude humor and cuties. 2000's babbys get fucked.

>>
>>69686842
Nick have kids shows that they wanted or didn't know they needed, and I think they were pushing the mold because there were a few shows that my mom didn't want me watching. Disney played it generally safe. Angry Beavers should be enough to show that Nick didn't give a fuck about playing it safe.

Here in Canada we had YTV (before Sugar and Carlos) and later we got the Disney channel re-branded as the "family channel". But I lived in a rural area so I didn't get that until after I was too old to watch it. CBC also aired shitty cartoons in the morning, shit like the old Inspector Gadget and Spiderman cartoons.
