Finally seen this film. Can we talk about it, for real? From my perspective the killings were all fantasised. I think that the whole theme of Bateman feeling less than others (not being recognsed, threats ignored etc.) led to him acting out his fantasies in his mind and in his drawings. What do you think?

Everyone was so self absorbed that they literally didn't care when Bateman admitted to killing people to their faces. Whether he did or didn't doesn't matter, what matters is nobody gives a fuck, including him. Yes, for all we know his other friends murdered people and talked about it in front of him, but he just didn't care like them.
He probably killed some, but as he realises that his actions garnered no reaction from others (even from a fucking detective) he started to lose his mind on whether it's real or fake, thus the more outlandish murders on the last part of the movie.
It's all just about how nobody gives a fuck about who you really are (even if you're a psychotic killer) as long as you wear the best suits, have the best cards, and dine at the best restaurants.
