Ip Man's really not that great. I've never understood all the hype. Watch all Bruce Lee's movies, most of Jet Li's, and Zhang Yimou's martial arts stuff. Along with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. That's about as good as martial arts movies get.
Van Damme also has some fun schlocky stuff, like Bloodsport, Hard Tarter, and The Quest.
