this scene was literally a masterpiece of film making.
tarantino may be a hack and may have peaked early but goodness if this scene is not literally one of the best examples of film making done to perfection.

I love Tarantino's work because he's so straight-up loving what he does and he's proud to do it every day. I realized right around the time I was watching Kill Bill that this guy clearly doesn't give a fuck about what the critical perception of his films might be, he just wants to enact his childhood fantasies and he gets to do that now.
I think he's earned the right to go to that level of autism.

His dialogues used to be far more refined and were basically pushing the tension of the scene to fever pitch.
In his latest movies all the characters just seem like they're saying 10 sentences when one is enough.
I think the turning point was Kill Bill 2. That's where he disappeared into his own ass and surrounded himself with faggots like Roth who likely high give him after every single word he writes.
