You know what I think is more interesting than when good filmmakers make bad movies?

When bad filmmakers accidentally make good movies.

So, ITT: good movies from hack filmmakers.

Lost in Translation. Sophia is shit, so I'm almost inclined to believe most of what's so good about it was accidents and wonderful acting chops. Maybe she just had a load of competent people and not a lot of self esteem during this one
>>

I'm more inclined to go with the actors. Bill Murray and Johansson are so damn good that I think they'd manage to shine under even George Lucas. Their chemistry is so great that it's shocking they haven't costarred in anything else.

Murray seems like he has good chemistry with everyone, to be fair

C'mon, tail of two kitties not only lived up to its source material, it surpassed it in almost every way
>>
>>69116753

You say that as if it's an accomplishment. That's like saying, "Attack of the Clones managed to have a beginning, middle and end! Good job, George Lucas."

Event Horizon is total shit. Utterly irredeemable crap.

The hell are you talking about? The final act is the best part of the movie.

It's actually incredibly enjoyable. Even Logan Lehrman manages to be entertaining. The best of all is fucking Orlando Bloom as the villain chewing up the screen every time he comes on camera.

You're guaranteed to have a good time as long as you think of this as more fantasy than the other 3M movies which are more grounded. I mean shit you get Logan Lehrman and Mads Mikkelsen going from fighting on Final Fantasy esque airship to fighting on top of Notre Dame
>>
>>69118116
I saw it once, in the theaters.

I've never read the originals, but I think it's safe to assume this is NOTHING like those. Entertaining nonetheless, but in a "what in the FUCK is going on?" kinda way.

This should be the movie's tagline, because it sure as shit just sold the movie for me. You should go into marketing, my good Anon.

Right? Some of the best scenery chewing in the business. Entire sections of the set had to be added back in during post-production because of Neil's enthusiastic chomping.
