>>69051002
This is probably the best pick in the thread, it's already gained some traction with people, both on the anonymous interwebs and more importantly in my day to day life, seeing a bunch of faggots post about memefilms on here doesn't mean shit, but when I meet borderline normies at my job or at a bar or on fucking tinder that dig this movie I know it's destined for great things.
>>69058160
that movie sucked in theaters
5/10
>>69058160
To add to this, movies like Mad Max and Drive are already cemented as classics, they were both extremely well reviewed, MM was nominated for best picture, and both had essentially nothing but good word of mouth. A movie like Tron came out to disappointing BO, middling reviews, and was arguably quickly forgotten by most. It's slowly had to build it's viewer base and appreciation, while the others knocked it out of the park right away and now are content to slowly draw people in for the rest of eternity. This movie whiffed on it's opening and now has slowly crawled out of the ashes. FLYNN LIVES.
>>69051002
This was a great movie to see in a good theater, luckily around here the theaters constantly have old movie days so I got to see it earlier this year in theaters again along with the original.

Not "kino", but this movie strikes me as the kind of thing people will form a cult following around and revisit again and again whenever Christmas time rolls around.
Kind of like Trick 'r' Treat before it, except that it's a movie horror fans will show their kids. (Who will in turn probably look back at it with nostalgia some day.)
>>69051578
Do you mean "objective pieces of shit" or "objectively shitty"? The sentence you wrote implies that an aspect of the film, one which you have failed to mention, is "objective" in some sense. I advise that you learn to communicate your ideas coherently before you formulate them, otherwise you look uninformed and stupid.
Your opinion is also shit.
I feel like this one doesn't get talked about enough

Babadook is overrated as fuck and is a pretty forgettable film.
It Follows is a much more memorable film when it comes to hipster horror-core.
>>69058856
What would be non hipster classic horror?
>>69051127
It's 2003, so not from this decade like OP said.
But yeah, it will probably end as a classic.
Movies like The Master and Tree of Life are already highly regarded.
One's like Inherent Vice and Knight of Cups/To The Wonder will be the films that take time for people to love
>>69058774
I sure hope so, cause it's fucking amazing

>>69058906
What horror films will be considered "classic" in the public eye is kind of hard to pin down right now because of the state of the industry right now, where usually only forgettable Blumhouse-tier schlock gets released in theaters and achieves mainstream attention.
Most of the best horror films to come out in the last decade are straight to VOD festival films. The majority of people arn't nearly invested in the genre to keep up with those kinds of movies though, so unless there's a shit tone of buzz and/or they manage to get a theatrical release (Like The Babadook or It Follows) not many people see them.
>>69058550 is a pretty safe answer though, followed by stuff like Cabin in the Woods, The Conjuring, and Insidious despite how mediocre they are. Maybe lesser ones like Oculus or Sinister too. That's the stuff that will be remembered by normalfags that arn't horror hipsters.
As for what films from the last ten years that I think actually deserve to be remembered as classics?
In my faggoty opinion...
Trick 'r' Treat, [REC], Lake Mungo, Pontypool, The House Of The Devil, Martyrs, Let The Right One In, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, You're Next, Resolution,Clown, It Follows, Bone Tomahawk, Last Shift, and Starry Eyes to name a few.
There are probably more, but that's all I can think name off the top of my head.
I think of the Dark Knight Rises. I movie not well apreciate nowadays. I think that the problem in the time it came out, many websites said that the original plan from that movie included Heath Ledger, the exceptional Joker that many missed, and that the script was altered due Heath Ledger death. The movie is good, have an interesting plot and Bane is a competent villain.
>>69059608
