The biggest problem is that Davos do not know resurrection is a thing. In fact, that is beyond imagination of most people, including the guy that only started to believe after he did the only resurrection in the series. If it was melisandre who decided to do it of her own accord, that would make sense since she has actually talked to Thoros and seen Beric. Davos doing it was out of character and only there to drive the plot forward.

The problem is there is no strong central plot to move the story along, and now all the side stories are starting to spin out of orbit.
Before with the war of the five kinds we'd see the story advance from different perspectives so the format served the narrative but now we have side stories that are in service to nothing going nowhere fast.
Take arya for example, her assassin training just isn't interesting, it's the same thing every episode and it goes fucking nowhere. Two scenes of the waif hitting her with a stick is not a training montage and it gives us fucking nothing, same with A GIRL HAS NO NAME over and over, we get it, move on.
Back when she was being trained by siro we acutally enjoyed that character because he told intersting stories, like how he recognized the pet for being a fraud, to not trust what is said but follow the body etc etc
