It's true /pol/ and /r9k/ give women a lot of shit, but they're actually dead-right that women are, in general, less physically strong than men.
This doesn't fly well with progressives, because of course everyone's equal, right? Women can do anything men can do! Well, except lug a 100 pound hose up a ladder, or carry a wounded comrade across a field under fire.
This is why recruitment for women is lower in a number of difficult professions: is there sexism involved? Yeah, a bit, probably. But even if the playing fields were completely level, men biologically still make better firefighters, cops, soldiers, laborers, etc.
Ask any woman who actually got into those respective fields if it was harder for them than their male colleagues, or if the standards should be lowered. Almost every single one will tell you that
a) it was much harder for them than their male colleagues, and they needed to put in more training and effort just to be able to match what came naturally to the men they were working with, and
b), that the standards should not be lowered because the standards are there for a reason. if a woman firefighter is too weak to do their job, then people will die. If the standards are lowered for her to get in, well, the hose still weighs the same amount. Same for female soldiers: if the standards get lowered, that doesn't make their injured comrades weigh any less. So now all we get is dead soldiers and useless women.
Moral of the story: /pol/ is sometimes right, men and women aren't equal in everything, there will never be complete parity in some jobs nor should there be, and the majority of women aren't--and can't--be fit for combat duty.
