Why are people suddenly pretending this movie is any good?
There isn't a single scene or even a line of dialog I can think that isn't stupid pretty much everything about this movie is bad.
For example most of the fight are 99% CGI shit shoved in your mouth besides maybe the first one with Count Dooku and last one in the Lava which is more like 90% CGI because it had a real person in it at one point.
The dialog never makes sense like when Obi Won says Sith Lords are their specialism when they've only gotten the shit beat out of them by Sith Lords.
And every single scene was them walking slowly with a CGI backdrop behind them.
Even Ep 1 was better than this shit because it had a pod race and some cool costumes and 1 or 2 scenes where everything wasn't CGI.

I think Ep 3 carried a good amount of weight considering how much they had to tie up.
Because of how much they teach us in A New Hope (The Force, the Jedi, the Clone Wars, how the Empire grew, how the Rebellion started, how Luke and Leia got separated, why Obi Wan and Yoda had to hide, just off the top of my head).
And considering they wasted two whole movies barely exploring this stuff, Ep 3 had a lot of mopping up to do.
Eps 1 and 2 only taught us the abilities of Jedi, how Obi Wan trained Anakin, Anakin and Padme, the volcano fight, where the Death Star began, how Boba Fett started, and the Clone Wars. The prequels did a decent job at world-building, but a sloppy job of world continuance. Ep 3 had to sling two trilogies together, when both were hardly made to comoliment each other.
I respect Ep 3.

The PT follows in the legacy of the great epic films like Ben Hur, the 10 commandments, and Spartacus, films that were truly aimed at the higher classes and others who could truly appreciate the arts. OT is just a collage of B-movie references with broad appeal. Gunslingers from Westerns, ninjas from kung fu movies, pilots from lowbrow rah-rah WWII movies. It's no wonder that OT is praised by people who have only a superficial knowledge of film language because it presents them only with references to their favorite lowbrow movies. PT is more challenging because it aspires to higher art and its references are taken more from the world of high culture and film art.
In summary, the difference between PT and OT is that PT are FILMS and the OT are MOVIES.

Wasn't it mentioned that Luke felt responsible for Kylo Ren's uprising? I think it was the prequels that made clear that jedi have no natural interest in certain conflicts...all Luke would be interested in is banishing the Dark Side, which is hard to do when betrayal agonizes your thoughts. The map could have been for anybody, but R2D2 held the other part so it would have been useless to amybody else.

It was pretty shit, but the entire "Excecute Order 66" sequence was probably one of the best scenes in the entire franchise. The acting of that Ki Adi Mundi guy was on point, I really felt for that scene because of him.
