Adam Sandler is a twisted serial killer who lures women to their death with a non-threatening demeanor. His twist into a psychopath is shocking when he violently tortures and kills his victims, as through every murder is very personal to him.

Sylvester Stallone is a soon to be retired detective who is haunted by the unsolved murder of a young woman when he first joined the force. His portrayal is careful and relaxed, underlying tense anxiety.

Kevin James is his annoyed partner who gets frustrated with his intransigence on seeing this through, even though there's almost nothing to work with. He's in it for the paycheck and the sooner Stallone retires the better.

Christian Slater is an imprisoned serial killer who taunts Stallone with a murder he can't prove. Serving several consecutive life sentences, this is little more than a game to him but he keeps it going because he knows it eats at Stallone.
