Not the guy you replied too but its fairly commonly known that pewdiepie had enormous luck with his channel. Right as he was becoming popular yt changed its system in favour of watchtime and not views (thats why videos are so long now). Right in that window he made like 20min Vids when everyone else made 5min Vids which pushed him to the frontpage a lot of times. He then also got onto the horror game hype which also gave him tons of viewers.
