Visually appealing just means things that look good. Beyond the Black Rainbow looks good. The Hunter looks good. Oblivion looks good. Fellini Satyricon looks good. Lost River looks good.good choice of images, BCTI is a great movie

BCTI is visually appealing in a way that most films aren't. You could say that it is its strongest quality and the only merit. Which is strange and refreshing (to me) because this is not what I normally look for in films. Not until after watching the film anyway.
