I think their going for a different method of time travel or something.

So before this scene, Bruce Wayne is sitting at his computing to decrypt Lex's hard drive containing all the super hero info. The process is going to be extremely slow so after it ticks 2% the screen cuts to black.
Then we see this post-apocalypstic sequence all akin to a Darkseid invasion (all things Bruce Wayne wouldn't know) where Bruce Wayne is a resistance leader and there's some special police with superman's logo as their emblems.. Then Superman shows up after Batman is captured and tells him that Lois was his everything and tries to rip his heart out. When this happens we cut to Bruce Wayne waking up from a nightmare then we see someone we don't know who's presumably the flash appear in a wormhole. Flash (?) confirms Bruce Wayne's (notice how he finds him as BW not Batman) fear of Superman and tells him to not let Lois die. Also Flash thinks he came too soon judging how BW is in total shock.
That's what we know and now we have to make sense of it. It's safe to assume BW fell asleep at the computer waking for the long-ass decryption but that's it. This sequence is much more confusing and obtuse than it should have been because of Synder's shitty direction and the script.
If it's a dream sequence, how does BW dream of all this Darksied stuff?
Does he suddenly have a premonition?
How does Flash come at this exact moment?
Did Flash wake him up from the sequence or did BW wake up at the right time?
Did Flash cause the sequence which is why he's there at the right time?
Did Flash come from the future or an alternate reality or is there even a difference?
