These are all pretty well known and good. A lot of the other recommendations are in that hyper violent manga aesthetic, so these (comparatively) slow burners might be good for a breather.

I saw it like two or three years ago so my memories a little hazy but I remember it being passable. It's not like pinku film acting where everyone's screaming all the time, it's a pretty subtle movie for the first two thirds or so and then gradually ramps up.

Not OP, but any movies that's like Kanako and Confessions? Both movies have really awesome cinematography although Kanako suffered from shitty pacing but the club scenes were really well shot

There's Battle Royale I suppose, though that film doesn't have the same cinematopgrahy, but keeps the insane violent Japanese schoolkids.
There Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance and Thirst from Chan-Wook Park as well, which are similarily beautifully orchestrated films which look fucking great.

Helter Skelter is kinda similar to Kanako (story about a female's psychosis and the chaos around her) and it was directed by a famous photographer Mika Ninagawa so the cinematography and use of colour is insane.
