Take Shelter is the perfect barometer of whether somebody knows what they are talking about or not.

Semi-related... I have 2 friends with tastes that are legitimately straight off of Reddit. Not in the /tv/ meme sense, but in the sense that that's where they get all of their info and opinions.
Every time I don't like a shitty show/movie that they do, they say "you only like things that are critically acclaimed" which isn't true and is just a lazy way of not having to justify/explain yourself. I really pay no attention to movie ratings/reviews, it's just a matter of being able to judge quality.
