It tried too hard to be clever and is a typical Nolan film, i.e. a movie that is supposed to make stupid 16 year old boys feel smarter than they actually are.
It's still a good movie, of course. I guess it's one of these movies that's so much better than its fanboys and therefore gets a lot of hate.
